MRD was formed in 1983 by Pat French with the object of manufacturing replica motorcycle frames for classic competition use.

In 1984 an agreement was reached with the Rickman Brothers to produce exact replicas of the Metisse competition and street chassis to the same exacting standards set by the originators.

This was a very comfortable arrangement enjoyed by Derek, Don and Pat and led to continued success for the Metisse name at many international events.

After 16 years and approximately 1000 frames produced, MRD separated from the Metisse project and moved back to the Bristol workshop where it had all started.

In 2004 after developing an all new chassis with life long friend and fellow aircraft engineer Chris Loosmore,
the FREEMORE was created

The Freemore Goldie and Pre-Unit Triumph were launched at the 2004 Stafford Classic Bike Show.

Initial interest was very encouraging and development continued for the next two years to where we are today.

The new SMS Triumph, (Sunday Morning Special) unit construction kit which was launched at the Stafford Show, now incorporates fully road legal lighting and a host of other refinements.
